Breath of Heaven

July 12, 2013 Photo of the day: "In Irons"

For weeks, I have been "in irons,"
facing directly into the wind,
stuck, unable to move forward.

Today, I believe that I was finally
able to free myself,
to fall off again and recover,
to adjust my sails and find the wind.

It is useless and damaging to sail against the wind,
but when properly adjusted and allowed to find
"the great breath of heaven,"
this tiny vessel will soar
and seek new, brighter horizons.

"If we're caught without wind in our sails, we'll be captive.
We may never find the gift which is ourselves...
or find out who we truly are."

"...the only matter of consequence before me
is what I will do with my allotted time.
I can remain on shore, paralyzed with fear,
or I can raise my sails and dip and soar in the breeze."

The little rowboat was built by Eric's Grandpa Small.
